MindGame


MindGame is a highly enjoyable, easy-to-use game designed by the world-famous author Mario Rinvolucri. Ideal in the classroom, the self-access centre, on the network or at home, MindGame is suitable for players aged eight to 80, who can play either against each other or against the computer. MindGame is extremely effective for learning finite language areas and comes with a free Authoring Kit, which allows you to add games that are specifically designed for your own students.

Show Me Spelling

Functional spelling for low level readers

This program allows students to succeed at spelling, while learning up to 600 words independently! It is Appropriate for any age and a wide range of ability levels. Includes instruction and quiz modes.

In the instruction mode, you create a spelling list for each student, or choose from dozens of preselected lists. You can adjust the difficulty of the program by offering students helpful spelling clues. If the student is still stumped, she can choose the "Show Me" option. Here, a short animated movie will present the correct spelling. Incorrect responses don't appear so students can't give wrong answers. This allows for extended independent work by those with limited spelling skills. You can select an option that also plays a "celebration" movie when a student spells a word correctly.

The quiz mode lets you implement a pre-and post-test strategy to evaluate student progress. You can easily save student word lists and quiz scores.

StartWrite is a complete software that teaches handwriting skills. The program makes teaching handwriting and good penmanship skills easy and saves an enormous amount of preparation time.
All you do is type letters, words, numbers, etc., on the page. The letters appear on the screen in a dot format on the triple-guide line. You can change the size of the letters, shading of the letters (so they print out light or dark or shades in between), turn on or off the guide lines and arrow strokes (beginning points), check spelling with a 100,000 spell checker, print in landscape or portrait and place clip art on the page in black & white or color. It only takes minutes to create a page. Save your page for later use.

    Interactive Picture Dictionary


    Over 800 head words arranged in 6 main groups and 40 topics.
    Teaches and tests the spelling of singular and plural forms of over 800 English words.
    Develops vocabulary skills in context.
    Includes spelling tests and vocabulary recognition tests for every topic.
    Provides for key words:
    photo
    pronunciation
    spoken and written context sentence
    three spelling activities for each of the singular and plural word forms
    type the missing letters
    type the word from memory
    type the word in new context sentences
    number of syllables per word as an aid for pronunciation.

Authorable. Customise the program by adding word lists (singular and plural word, context sentence, number of syllables per word). The program automatically generates the exercises for filling in the missing letters, typing the words from memory and the appropriate spoken feedback.
